I believe you have noticed moving cars with wobbling wheels, before. This happens when cars are moving at a speed of say between 40 to 60 KPH. If car tyres are not well maintained they are prone to do behave this way. Wheel balancing is required to prevent this wobbling. In this effect we use continental, standard and stick on to balance them. It is good practice to have the tyres checked often enough, because with time the vehicle begins to sag and this causes the wheel to start riding either on outer edge or the inner edge. This situation is destructive to the tyre as it will make it to start wearing faster. Such kind of wheel is dangerous as it will interfere with vehicle controlling. We do wheel alignment to ensure that they point straight to the road. A vehicle with wheels that are perpendicular to the road has its tyres flat on the terrain. Wheels that are not properly balanced undergo wear and tyre in a match faster rate than those that are balanced. Balancing is normally performed when fixing new tyres or after repair. Wheel balancing is important in preserving the life of the tyre. It also reduces vibrations that normally leads to uncomfortable driving experience. |
